Growing pains

Growth. It's an article of faith and an uncriticised given in our culture. We get bigger and bigger and bigger is better. To hell with less, more is more and only more will do. We cannot let a little thing like global catastrophe get in the way of ever-expanding consumerism. How else will we purchase our shaky, half-arsed identities?

There's plenty more where we came from.

uoY gnihctaW si rehtorB giB

I'm sure I have nothing new to say on the subject, but that doesn't normally hold me back - so here goes.....Don't we already have enough trouble with narcissism, narrow mindedness and stupidity without putting it centre stage and genuflecting at it. I find the whole Big Brother phenomenon rather depressing in a scary and decadent/apocalyptic way. What a formula - get together a bunch of deluded wannabes (not wannados) and leave them to stew in a cauldron of gossip, pheremones and self-obsession, poking occassionaly with a poisoned shtick. Televisual gold, my son!

Acid Cheeseballs

I'd like to have all those brain cells back now please. I didn't realise that I would need them ALL.

Philosophy for Fun and Profit

We really are an awfully clever species, are we not. I know that dolphins are quite bright, as are our great ape cousins, but we humans are singularly cleverer than all the boxes of all the frogs you could ever possibly wish to shake a faggot of metaphorical sticks at. Name me a mollusc that could construct a needlessly convoluted sentence like that with such sophistic smugness! When it comes to brains we are quite definitely the dog's bollocks. That will undoubtedly serve as great comfort to us all as we look down from our ivory towers and loft conversions to watch the rats and roaches take over the shit-hole that our unprecedented brilliance is in the process of constructing. Animals, eh? They're just rubbish.

£57 MILLION A MILE!

The proposed M6 widening scheme will probably end up costing upwards of a million quid for every 32 yards! You could build 3 and a half average schools for every mile of widening. Nice to know we've got our priorities right, isn't it? Below are some 'toons for the Group Against Motorway Expansion (G.A.M.E). Glenn Baxter's got a lot to answer for!
